PREGNANCY
[DURING AND AFTER]...

There are many complaints incident to the pregnancy state. these are all curable by the HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDY.,and when thus cured labor is always much easier because it is more natural.

TREATMENT DURING THIS PERIOD IS NOT ONLY BEST FOR MOTHER,BUT ALSO BEST FOR FUTURE HEALTH OF THE COMING CHILD,AS WELL AS FOR FUTURE PREGNANCIES.

LACTATION

The process of milk production. Human milk is secreted by the mammary glands, which are located within the fatty tissue of the breast. The hormone oxytocin is produced in response to the birth of a new baby, and it both stimulates uterine contractions and begins the lactation process.

Galactopoiesis:

Galactopoiesis
is the maintenance of milk production.

Purpose

lactation provide nutrition and immune protection to the young after birth.

Human lactation

When the baby sucks its mother's breast, a hormone called oxytocin compels the milk to flow from the alveoli, through the ducts (milk canals) into the sacs (milk pools) behind the areola and then into the baby's mouth

Hormonal influences

Progesterone ….influences the growth in size of alveoli and lobes. Progesterone levels drop after birth. This triggers the onset of copious milk production. Oestrogen . ..stimulates the milk duct system to grow and become specific. Oestrogen levels also drop at delivery and remain low for the first several months of breastfeeding.

(FSH)

Luteinizing hormone (LH)

Prolactin - contributes to the increased growth of the alveoli during pregnancy.

Oxytocin - contracts the smooth muscle of the uterus during and after birth, and during orgasm(s).

(HPL) - From the second month of pregnancy, the placenta releases large amounts of HPL. This hormone appears to be instrumental in breast, nipple, and areola growth before birth.

Colostrum is the first milk a breastfed baby receives. It contains higher amounts of white blood cells and antibodies than mature milk, and is especially high in immunoglobulin A (IgA), which coats the lining of the baby's immature intestines, and helps to prevent germs from invading the baby's system. Secretory IgA also helps prevent food allergies. Over the first two weeks after the birth, colostrum production slowly gives way to mature breast milk.

Milk ejection reflex

The release of the hormone oxytocin leads to the
milk ejection
or
let-down reflex
. Oxytocin stimulates the muscles surrounding the breast to squeeze out the milk. Breastfeeding mothers describe the sensation differently. Some feel a slight tingling, others feel immense amounts of pressure or slight pain/discomfort, and still others do not feel anything different.

The let-down reflex is not always consistent, especially at first. The thought of breastfeeding or the sound of any baby can stimulate this reflex, causing unwanted leakage, or both breasts may give out milk when an infant is feeding from one breast.

Afterpains

The surge of oxytocin that may also possibly trigger the milk ejection reflex also causes the uterus to contract. During breastfeeding, mothers may feel these contractions as
afterpains
.

Lactation without pregnancy, Induced lactation, Relactation

Milk production can be "artificially" and intentionally obtained in the absence of pregnancy in the woman. It is not necessary that the woman has ever been pregnant, and she can be well in her post-menopausal period. Women who have never been pregnant are sometimes able to induce enough lactation to breastfeed. This is called "induced lactation". Women who have breastfed before can re-start. This is called "relactation".

Breast Feeding Positions

1.
Cradle Position

2.
Cross Cradle Position

3.
Football Hold Position

4.
Side Lying Position

COMPOSITION OF MILK

Fat

total (g/100 ml)

4.2

fatty acids - length 8C (% )

trace

polyunsaturated fatty acids (%)

14

Protein
(g/100 ml)

total

1.1

casein 0.4

0.3

a-lactalbumin

0.3

lactoferrin

0.2

IgA

0.1

IgG

0.001

lysozyme

0.05

serum albumin

0.05

ß-lactoglobulin

-

Carbohydrate
(g/100 ml)

lactose

7

oligosaccharides

0.5

Minerals
(g/100 ml)

calcium

0.03

phosphorus

0.014

sodium

0.015

potassium

0.055

chlorine

0.043

ADVANTAGES OF BREASTFEEDING

FOR BABY

1. Due to the anti-infective properties of breastmilk, breastfed babies tend to have less incidence of or less pronounced symptoms of ear infections, respiratory illness, allergies, diarrhea, and vomiting.

2. Due to the digestibility of breastmilk, breastfed babies are rarely constipated.

3. The stools of breastfed babies are mild-smelling.

4. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is less common in breastfed babies.

5. Breastmilk is constantly changing in its composition to meet the changing needs of the baby. It has the exact combination of protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and sugars needed for the human infant at various stages of his growth.

6. Breastfed babies are constantly exposed to a variety of tastes through their mother's milk.

7. Breastfed children are at less risk for chrohn's disease and juvenile diabetes.

8. Children who were breastfed are less likely to need orthodontic work such as braces due to the unique sucking action required with breastfeeding.

9. IQ levels are an average of 8 points higher in children who were breastfed.

10. Adults who were breastfed have a lower risk for high cholesterol and asthma.

11. The bond between mother and child seems to be enhanced with breastfeeding.

FOR MOTHER

1. Nursing immediately following delivery causes the uterus to contract lessening the risk of postpartum hemorrhage.

2. The uterus of a breastfeeding mother shrinks to its pre-pregnancy size more quickly.

3. Calories are burned while breastfeeding. It takes approximately 20 calories to produce an ounce of milk.

4. Women who nurse their babies for at least 6 months lessen their chances of pre-menopausal breast cancer.

5. Osteoporosis and cervical cancer are less common in women who breastfed.

6. The return of fertility is delayed with breastfeeding.

7. Breastfeeding is more economical than formula feeding.

8. Breastmilk is always available, clean, and the right temperature.

Common problems related to

breastfeeding are breast engorgement, nipple pain/trauma, nipple infection caused by

Staphylococcus aureus, candidiasis, Raynaud.s phenomenon, plugged ducts, mastitis, breast abscess and galactocele .besides poor milk production or hypogalactia..

REMEDIES OF LACTATION....

BELLADONA

CALCAREA CARB

LAC CANINNUM

LAC DEFLORATUM

PHYTOLACCA DECANDRA

PULSATILLA NIGRICANS

SILICEA

.
